Dr. Cannon received her Doctor of Audiology degree from the University of Florida, Gainsville.

Over her 23 year career in Audiology, Dr. Cannon has helped thousands of people with hearing and balance disorders. Dr. Cannon has also received specialized training in the area of hearing and dizziness disorders.

She is board certified by the American Board of Audiology (ABA).

Dr. Maged Haimed earned his Bachelor’s degree from Brooklyn College in 2006 and his Doctor of Science in Audiology from Montclair State University in 2011. Before completing his doctorate degree, Dr. Haimed interned at the Brooklyn Hospital Center in Brooklyn, New York and SUNY Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York. He has been licensed by the State of New York and by the State of New Jersey as a clinical audiologist since 2011 and 2012, respectively. In addition, he is licensed in the state of New York to dispense and fit hearing aids.

Dr. Haimed keeps abreast of the latest developments in hearing aid technology as well as the latest research in vestibular and balance testing through being an active member of American Speech-Language- Hearing Association (AHSA) and being a Fellow of the American Academy of Audiology. He has maintained his Certificate of Clinical Competence from ASHA since 2011.

Dr. Haimed has been working with this facility since 2010; initially starting as a resident then becoming a full-time audiologist in 2011. Dr. Haimed specializes in digital hearing aid technology, dispensing, fitting and counseling the use of hearing aids and other assistive listening devices, audiological evaluations, electrophysiological diagnostic testing for dizziness and imbalance, and vestibular rehabilitation. He enjoys providing services to patients from pediatric through the geriatric population.


Raquel is one of front office receptionists and she will be the first person that greets you and checks you in at the Staten Island Hearing and Balance Centers.

She has been working for us for four years. She is often the first person you’ll see and her role is to always create a warm and welcoming environment for our patients. She is able to field many of your questions over the phone and schedule your appointments. You can expect Raquel’s friendly voice whenever you call or visit our office. Other responsibilities include confirming appointments, verifying patient’s information and insurance benefits, and write reports for the two audiologists on staff. Our patients compliment her often for her warmth greeting, patience, sincerity, and kindness.


Deborah Wechsler has worked in the medical field for twenty-eight years. She previously worked as an office manager for her late husband who was a cardiologist and a retired Professor of Emeritus at SUNY Downstate Medical Center. At Staten Island Hearing and Balance Center, she is responsible for scheduling appointments, keeping constant contact with our patients and writing reports. She is friendly, kind and compassionate. Patients love how she makes them feel comfortable and relaxed, like they are right at home.


Graceann is our insurance specialist and medical biller. She has 14 years experience in healthcare. Her specialty is dealing with insurance carriers. She has been with Staten Island Hearing and Balance center for over 3 years and is responsible for all aspects of medical billing. Graceann is a devoted worker, mother and wife.
